This program is designed to help producers develop rations appropriate for their animals and to estimate the costs associated with feeding their flocks.

Nutritional recommendations are adapted from “Nutrient Requirements of Sheep", Sixth Revised Edition, 1985, by the National Research Council. A link to this document at The National Academies Press can be found under Documents in the menu at the top of this page. Please be aware that feed nutrient values can vary greatly from the program’s textbook values. Formulating rations using actual feed values from laboratory tests is preferable to using textbook values.
